Introducing The HIV Health-Share Project via Let's Talk HIV

10 Oct 2013

Donate your Health Care to someone who needs it.

In Sweden there is a healthcare benefit called Friskvardsbidrag, a sum of money you get from your employer. You can use it for a gym membership, physical therapy or any healthcare-related activity.

Many people have an opportunity to use this great benefit through their work, many choose not to. This means that a large amount of potential do-good-money goes to waste every year. Until now.

Introducing The HIV Health-Share, a simple idea that let's you donate your personal healthcare benefit to someone else.

Toronto Ad Shop Creates A Twitter Powered #HomelessTurkey Campaign In An Effort To Feed Cities Homeless

Toronto Ad agency BlackJet develops a Twitter hashtag powered turkey feeder to help feed our city's homeless this Thanksgiving.

For every 1000 tweets that include the hashtag #HomelessTurkey,
10 turkeys will be donated to Good Shepherd Ministries annual Thanksgiving meal.

Press:
TORONTO, ON (October 9, 2013) Blackjet Inc., a Toronto-based marketing agency,
launched today an innovative digital campaign to increase awareness for their client,
Good Shepherd, a food and service provider for the city’s homeless. The concept is
simple – every time someone includes #HomelessTurkey in a tweet, a small portion of
feed will be dispensed from a Blackjet custom-built and programmed hashtag-powered
feeder to three lucky turkeys that have been spared from their Thanksgiving fate. For
every 1000 tweets that includes the hashtag #HomelessTurkey before October 10, 10
turkeys will be donated to Good Shepherd’s annual Thanksgiving meal. The campaign
is a pro-bono initiative for the agency.

Blackjet’s custom turkey feeder is powered by a trough-auger, controlled via a USB
relay, which connects to a server that scours Twitter for all tweets containing the
hashtag #HomelessTurkey. When the hashtag is used, the server activates
the USB relay, which near-instantly feeds the turkeys.

Tweet a turkey and watch it eat live now at HomelessTurkey.com.

Blackjet enlisted Thunderclap to help amplify social reach and awareness, in turn
maximizing the number of turkeys to be donated to Good Shepherd. Thunderclap, a
social media crowdspeaking platform, will broadcast a message tomorrow from the
accounts of all #HomelessTurkey campaign supporters, reaching an additional 120,000
potential supporters at the exact same time.

Also beginning today is a three-day, on-site activation at the corner of Queen and Soho
Sts. in Toronto, where a live feed of the hashtag-fed turkeys (comfortable on a farm in
New Tecumseth, ON) will stream daily from 10:00 a.m. to 7 p.m. ET. The live stream will
be accompanied by a street team who will educate passersby on the Good Shepherd’s
services for Toronto’s homeless.

Good Shepherd serves more than 1200 free meals to the homeless everyday, more
than any other organization in Toronto. Well known on the streets of Toronto as a place
to get a hot meal, clean clothes and a safe, clean bed for the night, Good Shepherd is a
leading provider of comprehensive services to homeless, disadvantaged and
marginalized people in the city.

Demi Moore Narrates "What I Love" psa for the Climate Reality Project

Demi Moore narrates the latest ad, "What I Love" for The Climate Reality Project.
To love a thing means wanting it to exist. Take the experience and find the things you can't live without at http://whatilove.org

The exciting news just keeps on coming.

Our chairman, former Vice President Al Gore went onstage at the Social Good Summit to announce the launch of a new digital experience the Climate Reality team has created for people just like you. And we had to share the news.

As you know, the real threat of climate change isn't just what it means for polar bears. It's also what the crisis means for the things that make us who we are ... the people, places, and experiences that shape our identity and give our lives meaning.

We designed our new tool to bring simple truth home and make climate change a personal reality for people everywhere. We're calling it What I Love ... and we're very excited to be able to share this with you before anyone else.

What I Love asks you to choose the people, places, and things that define your life ... and then reveals how climate change will directly impact each one.

You understand how climate change affects both distant landscapes and our daily lives, and we need your help ensuring others do too.

Network Rail, Track Tests featuring Wretch 32 & George the Poet

24 Sept 2013

Network Rail: Track Tests Public Awareness Campaign
We set up this test to bust the myth that sound isn’t necessarily straight forward and won’t behave as you’d think. It reflects off buildings, fences, embankments, etc, and competes with other noises in the area. Much of the train sounds actually radiate outwards, with wheels acting a bit like amplifiers. People often make the mistake that they’d know which way the train is coming from by the noise it creates, this test proves it can be pretty tricky and really not worth the risk. Take the test yourself at http://www.youtube.com/user/networkrail/tracktest

psa: Rape "It's Your Fault"

22 Sept 2013

"It's Your Fault"
All India Bakchod (AIB 365) a collective of entertainers consisting of Tanmay Bhat, Gursimran Khamba, Rohan Joshi, and Ashish Shakya, together they create a weekly sketch show from India's edgiest, politically incorrect and humorous news headlines.

AIB 365's lastest work is an ingenious video that adds humor and sarcasm to this public awareness campaign for Violence Against Women Prevention. The PSA entitled "It's Your Fault" blames women themselves for being the victims of rape. With ridiculous lines like "...scientific studies suggest that women who wear skirts are the leading cause of rape, do you know why? Because men have eyes." The video goes on to blame women for watching Bollywood films, mobile devices and the lack of support from India's Police...the comedic approach to the campaign actually might work.

Every sexual assault case in India inspires a string of stupid and hateful remarks against women. This is our response to those remarks.

The Breathe Easies "Don't Smoke in the House" - PSA

20 Sept 2013

The Breathe Easies star in this new anti-smoking ad campaign created by The Barbarian Group for the Ad Council.
Seven million children in the United States have asthma and nearly two-thirds of them will experience an asthma attack this year. The CDC estimates that children miss 11 million school days each year due to asthma.

Although there is no known cure for the disease, experts agree that there are a variety of ways to reduce the number of asthma attacks. One way is to reduce exposure to the environmental factors - asthma triggers - that make asthma worse. This campaign provides parents and caregivers with simple tips on how to eliminate specific asthma triggers in order to reduce symptoms and help prevent asthma attacks.

The new English and Spanish PSAs introduce the Breathe Easies, an asthma-centric rock band whose catchy tunes provide parents and caregivers with these tips in a way they won't easily forget. For more tips and fun songs about preventing asthma attacks audiences are encouraged to visit www.noattacks.org.

This campaign first launched in March 2001 and includes PSAs of all media types in both English and Spanish.

Mother Supports WIF Initiative To Sell Clothing Made By Bengali Women

The Women’s Interlink Foundation (WIF) has launched an initiative whereby scarves made by vulnerable young Bengali women will be sold in the UK through Topshop, with all the profits going back to the women.

The charity’s Key To Freedom initiative, which is supported by HRH the Duke of York, provides women in West Bengal in India who have been exposed to domestic abuse, and in most cases trafficked into the sex trade, with skills to earn an income.

The initiative is supported by a point-of-sale, digital and social media campaign by Mother.

Each Bengali woman signs a swing tag attached to the hand-printed scarf she has created which carries the call to action “Share how you wear your scarf at Keytofreedom.org” - encouraging people who buy the garment to submit pictures of themselves wearing it.

These images will form the basis of the brand’s social presence and provide content for its Facebook page at Facebook.com/KeyToFreedom.

Key To Freedom branded scarves will go on sale in Topshop in London, New York, Las Vegas, LA, Hong Kong and Melbourne on July 16th.
WIF provides accommodation in safe houses for the women where they are taught sewing and textile printing. The Indian printed designs available Topshop are an example of the garments the women hope to produce to help them become economically independent.

Kieran Bradshaw, strategist at Mother, said: “We have a great set-up with WIF, a beautiful product and now a great brand, so this initial launch is just the starting point in being able provide an income for the girls and to build a sustainable social enterprise model. “

Powerful New Ad For The Boston Police Foundation - "Back Up Boston's Finest"

16 Jul 2013

The creative studio Gentleman Scholar teams up with long-time collaborators Whitehouse Editorial on a powerful spot for Boston Police Foundation. Donnie Wahlberg provides a sober plea for support over a procession of still images portraying the Boston police at their heroic best, racing to crime scenes, mingling with the community, remaining calm in the maw of chaos.

Whitehouse editor, Adam Robinson, approached Gentleman Scholar to work on the piece, after teaming with them on the titles for the Harmony Korine-directed film, Spring Breakers, confident that the postproduction experts would deftly enhance the powerful sequence of images with understated VFX.

“I grew up in the area so it was a project I was excited to be a part of,” explains Whitehouse Editorial Editor Adam Robinson. “I was talking to Carissa (Marlowe), Joe (Berkeley) and Dave (Wall) about it and we were thinking that if we could get the crew at Gentleman Scholar on board, it would take it to another level. They really brought it to life.”

“We’ve have a very collaborative process with Whitehouse, and this Boston Police Foundation project was the perfect opportunity to flex our collective muscles,” notes Gentleman Scholar CD Will Johnson. “Creating a meaningful spot for a worthy organization is something that we can all be really proud of.”

Samaritans of Singapore - SOS Print Ad Campaign

21 Jun 2013

Pain is not always obvious, but the signs are there if you read them. To show how we often miss the warning signs, we created ambigrams and printed the ads with the logo and tagline upside down in magazines. At first glance, the reader sees a positive phrase. But when the ad is inverted, the copy reveals a sentiment quite the opposite – revealing the hidden feelings of those who are lost and depressed.
