Bier Markt celebrates 32 days of Oktoberfest with a Biervent Calendar

Lay out your lederhosen. Toronto-based creative shop Open has launched a new campaign on behalf of Bier Markt, showing that when it comes to Oktoberfest, nobody does it better.

To highlight Bier Markt’s commitment to this beeriest of festivals, Open created a social media Biervent calendar – the Oktoberfest answer to the advent calendar. Housed on Bier Markt’s Facebook page, the Biervent calendar will countdown the 32 days of the festival with a billboard that features a new headline each day, such as “Rock Out With Your Sauerkraut” and “Bier and Lederhosen. So In Right Now.” The campaign also features OOH and TSA ads that reflect the Biervent calendar headlines.

All the creative elements pay homage to the authentic Oktoberfest experience that Bier Markt will be offering up to guests this year, which includes a bunch of cool events – such as a Snout Sunday Roast and the Bier and Lederhosen So In Right Now Event – and a mouthwatering menu of German-inspired fare. But, of course, it’s the beautiful bier that truly will be taking centre stage and Bier Markt has a sensational selection of German suds to tantalize patrons’ taste buds.

“This campaign is about showing that Bier Markt is the perfect place for you to go for an immersive and authentic Oktoberfest experience,” says Martin Beauvais, partner, Open. “It has the food, it has the fun and, most importantly, with over 150 brands it has enough suds to more than do justice to bier’s greatest event.”

“Whether they’re going to dine, or just to drink, what people are guaranteed to get at Bier Markt is an Oktoberfest celebration they won’t find anywhere else,” adds Christian Mathieu, partner, Open.

Carling British Cider: Apple Bobbing Advert

4 Jul 2013

Following the success of the “It’s not quite Carling” campaign, the first advert for Carling British Cider will be making its debut on TV tomorrow. The ad created by Creature features one half of the new Carling duo, Dylan, attempting an astonishing stunt combining a bungee jump with apple bobbing. With his friend Jon and a crowd of onlookers watching, will Dylan succeed in his feat or fall just short and earn the verdict: ‘It’s good...but it’s not quite Carling’?

Carling British Cider launched exclusively in the off-trade in March and won a gold medal at the International Brewing Awards 2013, reinforcing the results of consumer tests, which proved that the modern, premium cider was preferred to the market-leading brands on taste, refreshment, and likelihood to buy. The new ad, celebrating the ‘refreshingly perfect’ taste of Carling British Cider, hits TV screens tomorrow and the campaign also includes outdoor, mobile and digital advertising throughout 2013.

Peroni Nastro Azzurro, a star in leading brewer SABMiller's international premium brand portfolio, unveils its new global advertising campaign, Storie di Stile (Stories of Style) in the brands 50th anniversary year.

Inspiration to create the first premium Italian beer came under the leadership of Carlo Peroni through a unique combination of the triumph of the SS Rex, which won the 'Nastro Azzurro' (Blue Riband) in 1933, the cultural richness of living in Rome, and the feeling of optimism and creativity that epitomised the 1960s.

Coors Light Gets Habs Fans Into The Action

11 Jun 2013

The Montreal Canadiens, the most celebrated team in hockey history, has one of the most passionate and diehard followings in the NHL. So during this year’s Stanley Cup run, Coors Light teamed up with MEC Canada and DraftFCB Montreal to create an interactive outdoor experience called "L’action sur la glace” or “The Action’s On The Ice”, bringing the fans even closer to the action.

Outside of Montreal’s Bell Centre, the home of the Habs, Thinkingbox digital production company built a custom 240 square foot ‘shooter’ platform where fans were able to take their best and hardest “slap shot”. Each time, the strength and speed of the shot would trigger a specific 3D animation that appeared on a 45’ HD LED video wall. For example, if the puck was hit hard enough to score a goal, an animation showing the ice shattering as well as a 3D modeled representation of Bell Centre and the Montreal Canadiens’ locker room would appear. Everything was done to recreate and simulate the experience of scoring a goal for the average fan.

The activation included a custom iPad application that controlled the flow of the event. It was synced with social sharing technologies so players could publish their experience on their respective networks. The platform included a puck track containing IR sensors and micro-controllers that converted fans’ shots from microseconds to km/h.
