Sprint "Never Change"
To promote Sprint’s sponsorship of the Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup and the new Unlimited for Life Guarantee, Sprint’s newest television spot offers NASCAR fans a glimpse into the future of popular drivers Clint Bowyer and Matt Kenseth.
Aged with elaborate makeup, the two drivers square off on mobility scooters clad with team numbers, colors and sponsor decals. They race through the halls of a nursing home, bashing and fighting for the lead. But when they finish their lap, they find that Miss Sprint Cup Kim Coon (also aged several decades) has fallen asleep while knitting the checkered flag.
As the two drivers race off for another lap, the title appears reading, “The drive to win is for life.” Title cards and announcer copy then make it clear that while other carriers are withdrawing their unlimited offerings, Sprint is guaranteeing unlimited for life.
Created by Team Sprint (Leo Burnett and Digitas), the spot was shot on location at a real nursing home outside of Charlotte, North Carolina. Many of the nursing home’s residents are featured in the spot, including the participants of a real water aerobics class. After several hours of makeup, NASCAR Sprint Cup Series drivers Clint Bowyer and Matt Kenseth mixed in easily with the residents, shaking hands and even helping out with some crossword puzzles.
