Mini-Mascots are the Stars in New Big Ten Network Ad Campaign for BTN2GO Mobile App
10 Oct 2013
Sports fans across the U.S. can now bring their favorite Big Ten team obsession with them anywhere. To help spread the word, Red Tettemer O’Connell + Partners (RTO+P) created Big Ten Mini-Mascots and put them in baby carriers for a new campaign for the Big Ten Network’s BTN2Go.
This multi-platform mobile extension gives fans the ability to watch the network streamed live from wherever they are. Available on desktops, smartphones and tablets, the app is free for any cable subscriber with BTN in their line-up. More than just a live simulcast of games, the app is customizable to set fan’s team preferences, highlights and stats.
The spot features Big Ten fans wearing mini versions of their school mascots in baby carriers while engrossed in BTN2Go content on phones and tablets while worn shopping, at a child’s princess party, on the golf course and at a wedding. And just like full-size mascots, the mini-mascots get excited when they see their rivals.

New Ad: Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup "Never Change"
16 Sept 2013
Sprint "Never Change"
To promote Sprint’s sponsorship of the Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup and the new Unlimited for Life Guarantee, Sprint’s newest television spot offers NASCAR fans a glimpse into the future of popular drivers Clint Bowyer and Matt Kenseth.
Aged with elaborate makeup, the two drivers square off on mobility scooters clad with team numbers, colors and sponsor decals. They race through the halls of a nursing home, bashing and fighting for the lead. But when they finish their lap, they find that Miss Sprint Cup Kim Coon (also aged several decades) has fallen asleep while knitting the checkered flag.
As the two drivers race off for another lap, the title appears reading, “The drive to win is for life.” Title cards and announcer copy then make it clear that while other carriers are withdrawing their unlimited offerings, Sprint is guaranteeing unlimited for life.
Created by Team Sprint (Leo Burnett and Digitas), the spot was shot on location at a real nursing home outside of Charlotte, North Carolina. Many of the nursing home’s residents are featured in the spot, including the participants of a real water aerobics class. After several hours of makeup, NASCAR Sprint Cup Series drivers Clint Bowyer and Matt Kenseth mixed in easily with the residents, shaking hands and even helping out with some crossword puzzles.

Remember Marcus, the San Francisco 49ers fan whose dreams of Super Bowl championship were trashed by his Ravens-loving wife Carmen that we first met last year in Tide's Super Bowl ad?
They're both back in a new Tide commercial to kick off the NFL's 2013 season. The ad first aired during the Broncos-Ravens matchup on opening night this past Thursday. This time Marcus pulls the bait-and-switch on Carmen by washing the jerseys of every team that would be playing the Ravens this year.

Wes Welker and Jerod Mayo in New Old Spice Ads, Lizards, Snow Globe, Absent, Coach
5 Sept 2013
Old Spice is the official deodorant and body wash of the NFL, which means that Denver Broncos wide receiver Wes Welker will be using it on himself during halftime, after a particularly inspired performance during the first half of a football game. But this is Old Spice and Wieden & Kennedy Portland, which means that the ad won't end with just a shot of a superstar football player enjoying his shower after a grueling workout.
The brand continues its "Unnecessary Freshness" campaign with a new crop of ads that are all NFL themed, featuring the same classic jingle format that the brand's Bar Soap advertising introduced earlier this year. The campaign will start off with "Snow Globe" during the NFL opener on Thursday, where new Old Spice Guy Welker will be making his on-field Broncos debut. The brand is also rolling out three other spots, "Coach," "Lizards," and perhaps the best one of the lot, the afore-mentioned "Absent," where Welker emerges fresh from his halftime shower to find that he's been in there a lot longer than planned. Jerod Mayo of the New England Patriots also appears in the spots. via: Creativity-Online

The FA (Football Association) Respect Advert "Respect The Technology"
29 Aug 2013
The FA has launched a new advert to remind people about the importance of Respect in our national game. The film looks at the potential of ‘corrective’ technology – think ED209 from Robocop - to deal with the problems of raging touchline parents, the loss of referees, foul mouthed players or abusive managers.
The Respect program was launched in 2008 and although there is much still to do, after five seasons across all levels of football on field discipline has improved, assaults on referees have fallen, 5,000 more match officials have been recruited and the environment of children’s football has improved.
Dermot Collins, The FA’s Respect Manager, said: “The application of technology is an ongoing discussion in Football. This film takes a light hearted look at how it can be applied to improving behaviour in the Grassroots Game but ultimately the solution is in our own hands. We all have a part to play.”
